Cookery Class HC2: All Ireland Home Cook Senior Qualifier

Competition Format:  

Qualifiers will have 45 minutes to prepare and cook a main course of their choice at the regional show.   

A gas hob and electric oven will be provided at the show along with power points and a work area. Each contestant must bring along their own ingredients and whatever pots pans knives ECT that they require to prepare and cook their dish.

Dishes will be judged on presentation, Cooking skills, Taste, cleanliness and best use of ingredients.    

The winner of each regional show will receive €200. This will be presented at the All Ireland Final. The winner of the All Ireland final will receive the grand prize.

Terms and Conditions  

  • Competition entrants must be: 18 or over as of 1st May 2018.
  • Resident in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland  
  • You cannot have worked full-time as a chef in a restaurant.  
  • You can hold a professional cooking certificate or qualification, however you cannot have in the past or present have worked, or work as a professional cook or chef in the industry.
  • All contestants must be amateur cooks. If you have previous professional kitchen experience that the organisers deem (in their entire discretion) could create an unfair advantage you may not be eligible.  
  • You must be available to participate in the regional final and the All Ireland final cook off (if chosen), see dates and locations of shows close to you. Final cook-off, All Ireland Final will take place at Bunnyconnellan, Co Mayo on bank holiday Monday August 6th 2018.
